REAL WEDDING... {RETRO} STYLE

Yuli Hsu and Keith Fisher

The Couple, posing for pictures. The beauty of the Delaware River serves as a serene backdrop.

The Bride and Groom with there retro-chic bridal party. {I just love well thought out themed weddings.} Don't you?

“Our friend is in an old-time roots band—it’s him, a husband and wife, and their three children—that plays folky swing music on the ukulele, accordion, steel guitar... We had them play during the ceremony (our recessional was the Beatles’ ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’), cocktail hour, and dinner. We also had a D.J. spin everything from sixties funk to New Wave.” -Yuli & Keith

Does your guestlist include children? Why not take your lead from Yuli & Keith and make a bonfire for them? Add s'mores and you have one great time for the kids. Don't worry, the adults are not to be left out. Once the kids are put to bed, re-light the fire, get out the marshmellows and add beer... Now that's one AFTER PARTY!

Not into the traditional cake cutting? Pastries such as cupcakes make a nice statement about when things were easier...retro

They named their tables after old romantic films—table numbers were mini-movie posters that the couple found online. Photoshop helped them transform the escort cards to look like 1930s ticket stubs that were cleverly displayed inside an antique creamery crate.

After the {Reception}

{photo via weddingpaper divas::special thanx}

although you are very glad to have shared your day with a host of family and friends, you and your new spouse may be eager to welcome the end of the reception and the start your honeymoon. With months of ,sometimes, stressful planning of your grand soiree and the excitement of the thought of getting underway with your new new life together, you are certain to be worn out by the end of the reception.
that may be the traditional feel of things; however, there are those couples who don't want to stop the music or the party. these dance-fever fiends have started a sweeping new trend aptly labelled 'The Wedding “after” Party'. couples are extending their reception {at a much lower cost}, to their favorite dance spot. there they continue to dance the {rest} of the night away. for these couples, this 'after' party enables them to show appreciation to all of their family and friends, local and long distance, who have, for months, awaited this much anticipated celebration. rather it's the night of or the day after, it does not seem to matter. all that matters is the untraditional but much welcomed time spent between friends and family.
if this sounds like just the 'icing on the cake' for your celebration... plan it perfect and don't forget to send the {extended} invite !!!
