Announcing Pantone...Colour of The Year!!

.... TURQUOISE

According to the colour experts at Pantone, "Combining the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green, Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of wellbeing."

Here's the entire story according to Luxist.

The experts at Pantone offers that, 'in fashion, Turquoise makes a statement that can look elegant and dressy in fine silk and gemstones, or casual and fun in cotton and athletic apparel'. It appears that 'the First Lady' is very much aware of this, as she is seen here in this picture taken on December 2 , 2009 while unveiling the White House holiday decorations.  Oh soooo sweet!!!

For brides wanting a flattering choice for apparel and accessories on their big day, Turquoise is now one of the nearly 200 PANTONE WEDDING Colors available. This beautiful flowing {luvly}  below, is just one of many styles that have designers frequenting their favorite fabric atelier.

Because of its versatility, Turquoise is a great accent color in jewelry, purses, shoes, hair accessories and even nail polish for women, and ties, shirts and sportswear for men'.

Turquoise is an evocative, spa-like hue that adds an undertone of warmth and excitement to any cool space.  adds a splash of excitement to neutrals and browns, complements reds and pinks, creates a classic maritime look with deep blues, livens up all other greens, and is especially trend-setting with yellow-greens.  It seems that Pantone has taken its cues from the beauty of nature.

Is turquoise your Inspiration colour?

Sweetly Sweet,

With 23inches of snow, it's difficult to image this beautiful colour. But I can only image how amazing this colour will look when the temperature hits 75 degrees!
