{Marrying} Away ...Choosing A Location...

Q. How do my fiance and I choose where to get married? We want to go somewhere memorable but be sure our friends and family are able to attend.
A. Pick a place that means something to you and is also fairly easy to reach. "The farther away you go and the harder it is to get there, the more guests you'll lose," says planner Tara Guérard of Soirée in Charleston, S.C. (She estimates that for most destination celebrations, between 65 and 70 percent of those invited come.) "It's all about accessibility," says JoAnn Gregoli. "You don't want people puddle jumping too much. At most they should have to take two flights." Also think about where you plan to spend your honeymoon. Venice, Italy, planner Anna Bozza finds that many of her clients marry in Venice then visit Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast or Lake Como afterward.
